Community Guidelines
Guidelines for respectful and constructive participation in the community.
Anomalous Experiences Forum is intended to be a space for thoughtful discussion of unusual human experiences, consciousness related topics, and open questions that sit at the edge of current understanding.
We want the community to be open, respectful, curious, and safe. These guidelines exist to protect discussion quality, reduce harm, and help create an environment where people can share experiences and ideas without ridicule, hostility, or sensationalism.
By using the platform, members agree to follow these guidelines. Repeated or serious violations may result in content removal, temporary restrictions, or permanent suspension.
Respect other members
Treat all members with respect.
You may question claims, interpretations, or ideas. However, you may not attack, insult, mock, harass, threaten, or deliberately intimidate another person.
Disagreement is allowed. Personal hostility is not.
Share honestly and in good faith
If you share a personal experience, present it as honestly and accurately as you can.
Do not knowingly fabricate stories, mislead other users, or post invented experiences as if they were real. The forum is for sincere discussion, not performance, manipulation, or attention seeking content.
Separate experience from explanation
Members are encouraged to distinguish between what they experienced and how they interpret it.
For example, describing an unusual event is different from claiming certainty about its cause. This helps keep discussions open, clear, and productive, especially in topics where multiple interpretations may exist.
No hate, abuse, or targeted harassment
Content that includes hate speech, discrimination, threats, bullying, abuse, or targeted harassment is not allowed.
This includes attacks based on personal characteristics, repeated intimidation, degrading language, or attempts to shame, isolate, or provoke another member.
No sensationalism, panic, or conspiracy flooding
The platform is not intended for fear driven content, panic spreading, or repetitive conspiracy posting.
Posts designed primarily to provoke alarm, spread paranoia, or overwhelm discussion quality may be removed, especially when they are presented without context, reflection, or meaningful discussion value.
Critical discussion is welcome. Sensationalism is not.
No medical, psychological, or legal diagnosis
Members must not present themselves as diagnosing or treating another user.
Do not tell people that they definitely have a medical condition, psychiatric condition, or legal issue based on a post. If someone appears distressed or at risk, encourage them to seek qualified professional support.
This forum is for discussion, not diagnosis or treatment.
Protect privacy
Do not post private or identifying information about yourself or others.
This includes addresses, phone numbers, private emails, workplace details, legal names, private messages, or any other information that could expose, track, or endanger someone without their consent.
Keep content relevant
Posts and comments should be relevant to the forum's purpose.
Spam, repetitive self promotion, irrelevant advertising, or low effort off topic content may be removed. Where appropriate, use the correct groups, tags, or categories to keep discussion organised.
Moderation and enforcement
Moderators may remove content or take account level action when these guidelines are violated.
Depending on severity, this may include:
- content removal
- warning
- temporary restriction
- temporary suspension
- permanent ban
Moderation decisions are made to protect the community, not to punish disagreement in good faith.
Report problems instead of escalating them
If you see content that breaks the rules, use the reporting tools rather than starting fights in public threads.
This helps moderators review issues more fairly and keeps discussions from escalating unnecessarily.
